Ormaie

Design-forward, gender-neutral fragrances from Paris

by Team AGNP

Newly launched fragrance brand Ormaie is creating gorgeous, gender-neutral perfumes that are as thoughtfully made as they are beautiful to look at.

Founded by mother and son duo Marie-Lise Jonak and Baptiste Bouygues, Ormaie blends perfumes solely with non-synthetic materials, a process that is almost unheard of in the world of fragrances. You can identify each scent, housed in a faceted glass vessel, by its unique cap—an objet in its own right—made of French beechwood. The result is a stunning object of design that will look equally at home in the living room as it does next to your other favorite fragrances. The brand launched in late 2018 with seven scents, each meant to evoke a specific story or scene. Papier Carbone, for instance, laced with notes of coffee, patchouli, and vetiver, will bring to mind a grand library filled with stacks of old books—but it also is meant to mimic the licorice candy that Baptiste ate as a child.

WE particularly love the notes of Le Passant, brimming with lavender and bergamot. Meant to be an homage to more traditional—yet subtle and sensual—masculine fragrances, it strikes a balance between floral and earthiness and is certainly fitting for any human.
